Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking an Inspector to conduct fire alarm inspections, test devices, document results, and generate reports. You will support the Lead Inspector or Inspection Manager with data collection, and perform routine service tasks and maintenance.

Responsibilities include testing panels and devices, logging results, diagnosing issues, and completing service calls with minimal supervision. A proactive, punctual candidate with strong PC skills is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience with commercial fire alarm inspections, service and maintenance.
• Proficiency with test equipment including sensitivity testers, multi-meters, battery analyzers, and sound level meters.
• Good networking PC skills: Outlook, Word, Excel; Palm handheld systems.
• Must be punctual and able to perform sound tests before tenant arrivals.
• Ability to stay on phone and computer throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all inspections are completed timely and thoroughly.
• Test fire alarm panels, devices, and functions; enter results into Palm device.
• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement fixes.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Assist with data collection and required inspection documentation.
