Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector for in-person work at 1752 Crown Point Road, West Deptford, NJ. The role tests and inspects fire alarm systems, records results, and prepares official reports and certificates.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential; NICET certs preferred though not required. The position emphasizes punctuality and the ability to work with handheld devices and standard office software.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent acceptable with experience.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards for inspection/testing of fire protection systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication and customer-service oriented.
• Must work well in a team environment and be punctual.
• Fire Alarm inspection experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform building fire alarm inspections, testing panels, devices and system functions.

• Assist Lead Inspector/Inspection Manager in collecting data and paperwork.

Duties include assisting both the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager in collecting data and generating any necessary paperwork (Fire Alarm Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates).# **Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*** Ensure that all inspections are completed on a timely basis and that inspections are done accurately and thoroughly.* Testing of all building Fire alarm control panels, devices, and functions of the fire alarm system and entering the test results into the Palm handheld device.* Upon completion of an inspection download the information and generate a completed Fire Alarm Inspection Report.* Participate in monthly team meetings.* Perform other duties assigned by management.**Education/Qualification:*** College Degree is preferred; however, a High School diploma or equivalent is acceptable with acceptable experience.* Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems. Stay current with code requirements, and industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications* Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and be customer service oriented.* Must be able and willing to work within a team environment.* Fire Alarm experience is preferred but not required.* Proficiency in using test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communicating devices.* Need good networking PC skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and use of Palm unit operating systems.* Must be punctual. Being on time is critical due to the need to perform sound tests prior to building tenant arrivals.* Ability to be on the phone and computer consistently throughout the day.**Other Duties:*** Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Physical Requirements:*** Industrial, Commercial, & Residential building environment with moderate to high noise levels, and comfort with working at heights.* Mostly a physically demanding role.
