Job summary

Johnson Controls in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a field technician to test and inspect fire alarm systems for a diverse customer base, ensuring safety and compliance. You will document work and maintain accurate records while delivering reliable service.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and sometimes working alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and smartphone usage.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems for existing and new customers.
• Maintain documentation of work performed.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Work in challenging positions, including climbing ladders/scaffolding.
• Possibility of alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

How you will do it

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customer base.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided
• Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• Follow verbal and written instructions
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions; such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment
• Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs
• Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner & maintain a clean and safe work area
• Must have a valid drivers license

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $18-$24 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
