Join to apply for the Fire Alarm Inspector role at Summit Fire & Security

Inspectors are responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and backflows with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes, with working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components.
2. Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to SFS and Customers.
3. Communicate professionally with internal and external customers and offsite monitoring companies.
4. Properly use and operate tools required for inspections (heat and smoke detector kit, backflow kit, pump equipment).
5. Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections timely.
6. Be available for on-call emergency service and inspections as required.
7. Maintain company vehicle and tools in good condition.
8. Follow safety protocols, participate in toolbox talks, and stay updated on technology and testing methods.
9. Train trainees in fire protection.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• NICET and/or state certification, preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience inspecting fire protection systems; 5+ years preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with skills in math, mechanics, problem-solving, customer service, and organization.
• Effective communication in English.
• Proficiency with computers, tablets, blueprints; experience with SalesForce and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
• Ability to comply with drug, alcohol, and background checks.

Physical & Work Environment

Frequent travel, working indoors and outdoors, exposure to various environmental conditions, and use of PPE required.
