Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to inspect and maintain fire alarm systems, ensure NFPA compliance, and work with sales and field teams to meet project timelines and budgets.

The role requires 1–3 years in an inspector technician role, NICET I, familiarity with NFPA 72/IFC codes, and the ability to read technical drawings. Valid driver’s license and OSHA safety awareness are also needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of inspector technician experience in fire detection/protection.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and IFC codes or adopted fire codes.
• NICET Level I certification.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge; OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with systems/service departments for testing and inspection.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs.
• Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems as required.
• Produce inspection and deficiency reports per NFPA.
• Deliver and test on schedule and within budgets.
• Log and transmit inspection reports via devices.
• Oversee project inventory and vehicle inventory.
• Work under tight deadlines.
• Provide guidance to other inspectors.
• Manage job scheduling and progress with focus on quality.
• Comply with industry standards and Sciens safety policies.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!

• Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with the systems and service departments for successful testing and inspection.




• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.




• Responsible forinspecting and maintainingfirealarmsystems.




• Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA.




• Responsible for delivering and testing on schedule and within cost budgets.




• Responsible forlogging and transmitting inspection reportsvia technical devices.




• Oversee project inventoryand responsibility for vehicle inventory.




• Ability to work under tight deadlines.




• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other inspectors.




• Manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

• High school diploma or equivalent.




• 1-3 years of experience in an inspector technician role within the fire detection and protection industry. Ability to work independently with some supervision.




• Knowledge of current fire alarm and clean agent/special hazard fire suppression systems.




• NICET Level I.




• Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 72 and IFC code or state-adopted fire code requirements.




• Able to read technical drawings/diagrams and follow specifications.




• Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.




• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certifications.




• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.




• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
