Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to inspect and maintain fire alarm systems, ensuring code-compliance across projects. You will work with sales, field teams, and clients, producing surveys, logs, and deficiency reports while managing schedules and costs.

You should have 1–3 years in inspection roles, NICET I, and knowledge of NFPA 72/IFC. The role requires a valid license, physical stamina, and reliable transport.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in an inspector/technician role within fire detection and protection.
• NICET Level I certification.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and IFC or state fire codes.
• Ability to read technical drawings/diagrams and follow specifications.
• Physically able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb ladders, and work at heights.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 certification desirable.

The Position in a Nutshell

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to provide inspection and maintenance capabilities. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure our customers’ systems are inspected and maintained in a code-compliant manner. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review system layouts and coordinate with the systems and service departments for successful testing and inspection.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems.
• Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA.
• Deliver and test on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Log and transmit inspection reports via technical devices.
• Oversee project inventory and responsibility for vehicle inventory.
• Work under tight deadlines.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other inspectors.
• Manage job scheduling and job progress efficiently and cost-effectively, with a strong focus on quality.
• Comply with standards and procedures of industry and Sciens safety programs/policies.

What We Like About You

• NICET Level I certification.

• Ability to read technical drawings/diagrams and follow specifications.
• Physically fit to perform demanding work, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, work from heights, and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certifications.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
