Description
This entry level position is considered a trainee who is learning the mechanics of fire alarm systems. The position will assist with the performance of routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision. In addition, the role will support the diagnosis and evaluation of systems that require servicing as well as troubleshooting issues that arise during inspections under direct supervision. This position may install and test fire alarm systems under the close guidance of a Fire Alarm Technician. The position receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Fire Alarm Technician.

Responsibilities
- Assist with routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision.
- Support diagnosis and evaluation of systems requiring servicing and troubleshoot issues during inspections under direct supervision.
- Install and test fire alarm systems under the close guidance of a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Receive guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Be available to support technicians.
- Provide detailed notes on work orders daily.
- Read a set of fire alarm prints and install accordingly.
- Maintain excellent communication skills.
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Work after-hours and on weekends as needed based on customer demands.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
Requirements
- Hand tool, power tool, and multimeter knowledge required.
- Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required.
- MVR checks required for all driving positions.
