Role Description

The Fire Alarm Foreman is a full-time, on-site role based in Vista, CA. This position oversees the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising field crews, coordinating schedules, reading and interpreting plans, and verifying that work meets project specifications and safety requirements. The Foreman will operate and direct the use of appropriate tools and equipment, troubleshoot system issues, and maintain accurate documentation of work performed. The role also involves communicating with project managers, inspectors, and clients to provide updates, address concerns, and support successful project completion.

Qualifications
  • Strong supervisory skills, including leading crews, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
  • Experience working with heavy equipment and jobsite tools relevant to fire alarm installation and construction.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, contractors, inspectors, and clients.
  • Basic carpentry and construction skills for mounting, routing, and protecting fire alarm components.
  • Maintenance skills for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm codes, standards, and best practices (NFPA, local building and fire codes).
  • Prior experience in fire alarm, electrical, or low-voltage systems in a foreman or lead role is preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and translate them into field installation plans.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work safely on active construction sites.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in fire alarm or low-voltage systems are a plus.
