Job summary

Century Fire Protection is seeking a field-based technician in Lexington, KY to inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems. You will work independently in the field, ensuring code compliance and high-quality service while building strong customer relationships.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA standards, local codes, and the ability to program control panels, document service reports, and coordinate with project managers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred or state-dependent.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC and local fire codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Diagnose system issues, identify malfunctions, and complete repairs.
• Program, configure, and verify fire alarm control panels and devices.
• Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms.
• Maintain records of work performed and deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Communicate with customers about system status and required repairs.
• Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors as needed.
• Ensure tools, test equipment, and service vehicles are properly maintained.
• Follow safety policies and job site regulations; stay current with codes and technologies.
• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service response.
