Role Description

The Fire Alarm CAD Tech is a full-time, on-site role based in Northwest, AR. This position is responsible for creating detailed fire alarm system drawings and layouts using CAD software, ensuring designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural and engineering plans, coordinating with project managers and field technicians, updating drawings based on site conditions or design changes, and preparing documentation for submittals and installations. The Fire Alarm CAD Tech also assists with technical support related to design questions, maintains accurate digital files, and contributes to continuous improvement of drafting standards and templates.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Technical Support and Troubleshooting to assist with design-related issues and respond to internal inquiries.
• Candidates should possess skills in Computer Maintenance and Computer Repair to keep CAD workstations and related equipment operating reliably.
• Candidates should possess skills in Operating Systems to navigate and manage software tools needed for CAD drafting and documentation.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) and the ability to produce clear, code-compliant fire alarm drawings.
• Understanding of fire alarm systems, applicable building and fire codes, and basic electrical principles is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant technical training or an associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience in fire protection or low-voltage systems is a plus.
