ERA Fire is seeking a detail-oriented drafter to join our team in the Greater Philadelphia region. You will produce fire alarm shop drawings and own the permit process from submittal through approval, coordinating with estimating, sales, and installation teams to convert project scopes into compliant drawing sets.

You will manage submittals with municipalities, AHJs, and third-party reviewers until permits are issued, ensuring timely revisions and accurate as-builts at project closeout.

Qualifications

• 2+ years AutoCAD drafting experience, preferably in fire alarm, low-voltage, or electrical systems.
• FireCAD experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72 or willingness to learn it quickly.
• Experience with municipal permitting and AHJ submittals; PA UCC process knowledge is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Clear, professional communication with code officials, reviewers, and internal teams.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification (Level I or higher) is a plus, and we support pursuing it.

Responsabilités

• Prepare fire alarm shop drawings, riser diagrams, device layouts, and wiring details using AutoCAD and FireCAD.
• Perform or support voltage drop, battery, and NAC load calculations for submittal packages.
• Assemble complete permit packages, including drawings, calculations, equipment cut sheets, and applications.
• Submit permit applications to municipalities and third-party review agencies, and track their status through approval.
• Respond to plan review comments and coordinate drawing revisions.
• Keep a permit log and communicate status updates to project managers and field staff.
• Produce as-built drawings at project closeout based on field markups.
• Keep drawing standards, title blocks, and templates organized and consistent.

ERA Fire is a fire alarm company serving commercial, institutional, and multi-family properties throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. We design, install, inspect, and service fire alarm systems, and we take pride in delivering code-compliant work that passes inspection the first time. We’re growing and looking for a detail-oriented drafter to join our team.

The Role

You’ll produce fire alarm shop drawings and own the permit process from submittal through approval. You’ll work closely with our estimating, sales, and installation teams to turn project scopes into clean, compliant drawing sets, then manage those submittals with municipalities, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and third-party plan reviewers until permits are issued.
