Summit Fire & Security LLC in Sanford, FL is seeking a Fire Alarm Apprentice to support the installation of fire alarm systems under the direction of the Fire Alarm Superintendent. You will assist with conduit, wiring, control panels and related equipment, while maintaining tools and the job site.

The role requires a HS diploma, 0 years in the Life Safety field, 1+ years computer skills, a driver’s license and a readiness to travel locally up to 90%.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0 years Fire Life Safety Industry experience, specifically in Fire Alarm, required.
• 1+ years of professional computer skills
• Desire to learn the NICET certification and advance to Fire Alarm Technician
• Must meet SFS drug, alcohol, and background screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation of conduit, low voltage wiring, control panels and fire alarm equipment.
• Keep tools available and in serviceable condition on job site.
• Assist in cleaning job site, tools, and equipment.
• Carry equipment from vehicle to location and help with site setup.
• Learn and develop knowledge of fire alarm installation under supervision.
• Read NFPA 72 and NEC 70 to support NICET certification goals.
