Job summary

Fenwick & West seeks a seasoned regulatory lawyer to advise fintech and financial-services clients on product development and regulatory compliance. You will counsel on payments, licensing, and transactional structures, including bank-fintech partnerships and embedded-finance programs.

The role involves drafting commercial agreements, conducting regulatory diligence, and guiding clients through complex regulatory landscapes with practical advice and clear communication.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant experience at a law firm, financial institution, fintech company, or comparable setting.
• Substantive experience in payments, money movement, licensing, bank-fintech partnerships.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements relating to financial products and services.
• Ability to understand complex regulatory issues and communicate practical advice to legal and business stakeholders.
• MA, WA, NY, or DC bar preferred, but not required.
• Superior academic credentials and strong oral/written skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise fintech, technology and financial-services clients on product development and regulatory requirements.
• Counsel on payments, money transmission, lending and regulatory compliance strategies.
• Structure bank-fintech partnerships and embedded-finance arrangements, including program-risk allocation.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements for fintech products and services.
• Help implement regulatory requirements through disclosures, policies and licensing strategies.
• Advise on regulatory aspects of investments, financings and strategic transactions.
• Manage matters independently and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams.
