Job summary

Plaid Inc. is seeking a Privacy & Regulatory Counsel to partner with cross-functional teams, analyzing complex legal and regulatory issues and providing practical guidance to support business initiatives.

You will monitor laws, maintain regulatory policies, and collaborate with Compliance, Security, and policy teams, focusing on privacy, financial-services, and AI regulations. You will contribute to training and enablement materials and help translate regulatory expectations into actionable

Qualifications

J.D. or equivalent law degree and active state bar.
5+ years legal experience providing solutions-oriented advice.
Strong knowledge of US financial-services, privacy, and AI/ADMT regulations.
Experience with GLBA, FCRA, UDAAP, GDPR and related frameworks.
Experience monitoring statutes, regulations, and trends.
Familiarity with compliance-program design and policy governance.
Strong legal judgment and communication skills.
Collaborative and proactive approach in a fast-moving environment.
Experience in regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze new or changing laws and translate them into practical guidance.
Answer questions about regulatory compliance for cross-functional teams.
Maintain Plaid’s regulatory policies, positions, and analyses.
Support Policy team on engagement with policymakers and regulators.
Collaborate with Compliance, Security, and owners to assess risks and implement updates.
Create training materials to help teams understand regulatory requirements.
