Job summary

Stearns Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Fintech BSA/AML Manager to oversee BSA/AML policies, risk assessments, and fintech partner oversight within a connected mobile work environment.

The role requires extensive experience in BSA/AML compliance, transaction monitoring development, and collaboration with fintech partners; travel may be required, and the position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3–5 years of related experience.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive BSA/AML compliance experience in banking or financial services.
• At least 3 years of fintech partnerships, BaaS programs, or digital banking platforms experience.
• Experience with OCC, FDIC, or Federal Reserve examinations.
• Experience developing and implementing transaction monitoring programs.
• Track record of managing complex SAR investigations from detection through filing.
• Proficiency with transaction monitoring platforms and advanced Excel.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; strong written and verbal communication.
• Occasional travel to partner meetings and regulatory examinations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance to fintech partners on BSA/AML program requirements.
• Lead development and optimization of transaction monitoring scenarios for fintech partner programs.
• Conduct BSA/AML risk assessments for fintech partners and implement mitigating controls.
• Oversee CIP/KYC and OFAC screening alongside fintech partners.
• Monitor financial activity to identify and report suspicious transactions.
• Assist in OCC examinations, preparing materials and corrective actions.
• Maintain the fintech-related component of the third-party risk management framework.
• Develop and deliver BSA/AML training for staff and partners.
• Review complex SAR investigations and ensure timely filings with FinCEN requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments to enhance the program; report metrics to leadership.
