Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a Fintech/Crypto Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review and create AI-generated fintech content, evaluating reasoning quality and problem-solving steps. You will provide precise feedback on accuracy, safety, and compliance, rating responses for correctness and clarity.

This is a remote, hourly contractor role within SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, with opportunities for future projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, CS, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in fintech, payments, banking, crypto, or adjacent domains.
• Strong understanding of payments and money movement: authorization/settlement, chargebacks, fees, rails (card networks, ACH, wires).
• Strong understanding of crypto/blockchain fundamentals: transaction lifecycle, consensus (high level), on-chain vs off-chain, token mechanics.
• Solid risk mindset: fraud vectors, account takeover, social engineering, custody/key management risks.
• Familiarity with compliance concepts relevant to fintech/crypto (high level): KYC/AML, sanctions awareness, consumer protection.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard fintech/crypto outputs (explanations, scenario analyses, risk write-ups, user guidance).
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve correctness, clarity, safety, and practical usefulness.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, misleading certainty, unsafe financial guidance, and bias; validate reliability across use cases.

Job description

Pay: up to $100/hour

In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will work as a Fintech / Crypto Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review AI-generated fintech, payments, and crypto/Web3 responses and/or create expert content, evaluating reasoning quality and step-by-step problem-solving while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, safety, and adherence to the prompt; identify errors in financial product logic, payments flows, blockchain/crypto concepts, custody and key management, smart-contract risk reasoning (conceptual), fraud/AML considerations, and regulatory-compliance awareness; fact-check technical and market concepts; write high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct reasoning; and rate and compare multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality. This role is with SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, delivering training data for many of the world’s largest AI companies and foundation-model labs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience in fintech, payments, banking, crypto, or adjacent domains (product, operations, risk, compliance, research, engineering, or consulting).
• Strong understanding of payments and money movement: authorization/settlement, chargebacks, fees, rails (card networks, ACH, wires), and common failure modes.
• Strong understanding of crypto/blockchain fundamentals: transaction lifecycle, consensus (high level), on-chain vs off-chain, token mechanics, and common misconceptions.
• Solid risk mindset: fraud vectors, account takeover, social engineering, custody/key management risks, and safety-first user guidance.
• Familiarity with compliance concepts relevant to fintech/crypto (high level): KYC/AML, sanctions awareness, consumer protection, and disclosure practices.
• Ability to evaluate answers for internal consistency (units, timelines, fees, security assumptions, and realistic constraints).
• Minimum C1 English proficiency with strong written communication and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
• Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, financial content QA, risk/compliance review, or technical writing is strongly preferred.
