You will own cloud cost forecasting and spend tracking across a multi-cloud AWS, Azure and GCP estate on a 12+ month hybrid contract based in Charlotte, NC and St. Louis, MO. The work is highly visible: you will produce executive-ready reporting, defend your assumptions in front of senior stakeholders, and drive real optimization across commitments, rightsizing and licensing. Compensation: this is a W2 contract engagement. Compensation is the hourly rate stated above, plus any overtime required by law. No health, dental, vision, retirement or paid leave benefits are offered at this time, beyond what applicable law requires.

- Maintain cost visibility at the account, service, environment and application level, including tagging and allocation hygiene
- Flag anomalies and unexpected growth, and drive them to resolution with the owning teams
- Partner with the cloud build team so planned workload changes, migrations and new infrastructure are reflected in the forecast before they hit the bill
- Coordinate with the SDIT FinOps team to keep reporting reconciled and avoid conflicting numbers, and align forecasts with business planning budget cycles and funding decisions
- Produce recurring and ad hoc summaries ready for executive consumption, and present findings directly to senior stakeholders
- Identify and quantify savings across Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, CUDs, rightsizing, storage tiering, idle resources and license positioning, then track realized savings

- Working knowledge of AWS Cost Explorer and CUR
- Working knowledge of Azure Cost Management

- Experience with a third-party platform such as Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth or Flexera
- Experience with unit economics and showback/chargeback models
- Familiarity with enterprise IT financial structures where central IT spend is tracked separately from business unit spend
