Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a FinOps Engineer to establish and lead a new FinOps capability in Chandler, AZ (Hybrid – 3x/week) or Irving, TX. You will drive cost accountability across cloud and on‑prem infrastructure, partnering with Architecture, Engineering and Finance to embed cost as a core design consideration and to deliver material cost savings using automation and AI-driven insights.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on FinOps expertise with cost management and optimization.
• Experience with Azure costs and Google Cloud Platform costs.
• Proven automation and scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Ability to translate cost drivers into business impact and communicate them to executives.

Responsibilities

• Drive FinOps strategy across cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Embed cost accountability into design, delivery workflows, and governance.
• Develop cost visibility, allocation, and chargeback models.
• Identify rightsizing, savings plans, and lifecycle management opportunities.
• Build dashboards and reports for executive leadership and stakeholders.
