Job summary

Zynga is seeking a seasoned FinOps engineering leader to drive cost optimization across our back-end services for mobile and online games. You will mentor software and cloud engineers, stay current with AWS and vendor tools, and design new FinOps tooling including data pipelines, APIs, and Tableau-based analytics.

The role involves partnering with product, data, and engineering teams to implement cost-reduction initiatives, while guiding architecture decisions and best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with software programming (Python).
• Hands-on experience with SQL tables and SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience developing APIs, UIs, and data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD testing.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers.
• Experience collaborating with many teams in an enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead all technical aspects of the FinOps team’s software development and data analysis, including mentorship of software and cloud engineers.
• Stay up-to-date on changes within Cloud Hosting Providers (AWS) and other vendor software to identify new cost savings opportunities.
• Propose and design new FinOps tooling using data pipelines, API, Cron jobs, UI, SQL, Tableau and more.
• Assist Product Management with prioritizing endeavors based on impact, estimated cost reduction, and effort.
• Assist Data Analysts with designing SQL tables and using Tableau effectively for data analysis.
• Coordinate with teams across the enterprise to drive cost optimization and transparency.
• Serve as a technical advisor to internal customers on cloud cost optimization and architecture decisions.
