Job summary

Prince Industries in Brattleboro, Vermont, is hiring a Finishing Technician to perform repetitive bench or line assembly to produce various components and to operate an ultrasonic wash machine for cleaning parts.

The role requires reading and following instructions, handling parts with deburring tools, loading/unloading from washers, and adhering to safety procedures. OT may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • General labor experience in a machine shop preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

  • Debur parts with wheels, reamers, drills, sandpaper, and files.
  • Load and unload materials from washers.
  • Immerses objects in washing solutions to remove debris.
  • Wash parts in ultrasonic or solvent, dry and inspect.
  • Operate machines and measure/prepare wash cycles.

Job Summary

TheFinishing Technicianperforms repetitive bench or line assembly operations to produce various types of specified products in addition to completing routine tasks of hand washing or operating the ultra-sonic wash machine to clean manufactured components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deburs parts with tools such as deburring wheels, reamers, drills, sandpaper, scotchbrite, small files, or small pneumatic tools
  • Loads and unloads materials or parts from washer to specified area
  • Immerses objects in washing and rinsing solutions to remove debris
  • Washes parts in an ultrasonic machine or solvent, dries parts, examines parts, removes debris
  • Measures and pours soap or chemical into wash water, set controls to regulate cycle of wash and water temperature
  • Inspects parts, some under a microscope
  • Responsible for Heli-Coil installation
  • Completes parts assembly (non-electronic parts) and packaging
  • Operates a pallet jack / other moving equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor as needed
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to recognize and sort materials
  • Ability to operate machinery
  • Strong work ethic: Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed
Education and Experience
  • Previous general labor experience in a machine shop environment preferred
  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend
  • Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work
  • Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, lifting guidelines, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in noisy environments.
  • Must also have close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus and judge depth. Color vision is required as well.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
