Job summary

Banknote Corp of America seeks a dedicated operator for the Stamp Finishing Department in Browns Summit, NC. You will run coilers, packaging lines, cutters, and related equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will log production activity in the ERP and QA systems, perform routine maintenance, and assist with training new hires. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and working 12-hour shifts, day or night.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude is essential for operating finishing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate stamp finishing department equipment including coilers, packaging lines, cutters, sheeters, and related equipment.
• Maintain safe working environment at all times.
• Handle and feed material without disruption to production.
• Maintain operation and downtime logs and QA documentation in ERP systems.
• Follow quality standards, perform quality checks, and document non-conformances in Intelex.
• Monitor ink jet numbering system on coiler for proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance (blade changes) and clean up.
• Train new employees as required.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

With reasonable accommodation, if required, will operate basic stamp finishing machinery, including regular coilers, Longford line, and other basic machinery in support of stamp finishing operations, meeting safety and production requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS OF THE POSITION:

• Maintains a safe working environment at all times
• Operates Stamp Finishing Department equipment including coilers, packaging lines, cutters, sheeters, and related equipment.
• Handles and feeds material.
• Maintains operating and malfunction/downtime log and required production documentation (manual and “SERADEX” ERP system)
• Follows quality standards, maintains close tolerances, performs quality checks and enters Quality non-conformances (QNCR’s) into Intelex system.
• Monitor ink jet numbering system on coiler for proper operation.
• Performs routine maintenance (including blade changes) and clean up.
• Trains new employees as required
• Assists with examining product when needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Some previous printing or binding machine operation helpful.
• Basic computer skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Good visual acuity and color vision
• Ability to walk, stand, bend or reach 12 hours.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work on any shift (day or night/12 hour shifts)
• Must be able to adhere to stringent security and safety rules.
