Job summary

INNIO Group is seeking a Finishing Operator - Machining to deburr and finish precision components used in high‑performance power systems. You will remove burrs, inspect parts and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality standards while safely handling equipment and materials.

The role requires experience with deburring tools and finishing equipment, along with the ability to read work instructions and follow lean processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing, machining, metal finishing, deburring or precision manufacturing.
  • Experience using pneumatic deburring tools, grinders, files, or similar finishing equipment.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and safety procedures; familiarity with lean and 5S.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual deburring, edge finishing, cleaning, and surface prep of precision components.
  • Remove burrs and surface imperfections without damaging features.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional checks per instructions.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection devices as required.
  • Identify and communicate nonconforming components per quality procedures.
  • Clean components and remove chips, coolant, debris before inspection.
  • Handle, move, stage, load and unload components safely.
  • Verify part identification, production status, routing, and traceability.
  • Maintain deburring tools, gauges, fixtures in good condition.
  • Support machining operations with fixture prep, chip removal, prep.
  • Perform secondary operations like part washing, marking, rust prevention, packaging.
  • Cross-train and support other machining operations as needed.

Finishing Operator - Machining

is responsible for manually removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from connecting rod components and other machined parts to ensure product quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with engineering specifications. This position supports production operations through the safe operation of deburring equipment, inspection of finished components, and adherence to established quality and safety standards.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
  • Perform manual deburring, edge finishing, cleaning, and surface preparation of precision‑machined components using approved hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, files, abrasive tools, and other equipment.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, residual material, chips, and surface imperfections without damaging machined surfaces or altering critical dimensions, holes, radii, chamfers, or other specified features.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional checks in accordance with work instructions, engineering drawings, control plans, visual standards, and quality requirements.
  • Use approved measuring and inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection devices, as required and trained.
  • Identify, contain, and communicate nonconforming or questionable components in accordance with established quality procedures.
  • Clean machined components and remove chips, coolant, debris, or residue as required before inspection or downstream processing.
  • Safely handle, move, stage, load, and unload components using carts, racks, lifting devices, or other approved material‑handling equipment.
  • Verify part identification, production status, routing, and traceability requirements.
  • Maintain deburring tools, abrasives, gauges, fixtures, and other equipment in proper working condition and identify worn, damaged, or ineffective tooling.
  • Support machining operations through activities such as fixture cleaning, tool and material staging, chip removal, workstation preparation, and general production support.
  • Perform secondary manufacturing operations such as part washing, marking, gauging, rust prevention, packaging or preparation for subsequent manufacturing processes as required.
  • Cross‑train and support additional machining, finishing, inspection, cleaning, and material‑handling operations as business needs require.
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, machining, metal finishing, deburring, inspection, or a similar precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using pneumatic deburring tools, grinders, files, abrasive tools, or similar finishing equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, visual standards, and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement principles.
