We are seeking a Finishing Operator to be responsible for operating equipment in the slitting, doctoring, and palletizing areas.

You will follow all safety, quality, and finishing area procedures while maintaining high standards of productivity. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the lead to make informed decisions related to quality and efficiency.

Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, communication skills, and a commitment to operational excellence are essential in this position.

What you will do
  • Inspect incoming coated stock for damage and proper paperwork.
  • Make timely and correct entries in data recording system.
  • Properly prepare splices from roll to roll with a greater than 96% success rate.
  • Perform labeling of finished reels accurately.
  • Stage and remove reels from the machine as well as empty scrap material from waste bins.
  • Properly prepare material coming off the Slitter for transport, including removal of quality samples.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare splices, load rolls and unload reels in a safe manner.
  • Proactively maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Understand and be able to perform all Quality Control checks without assistance.
  • Ability to train all the functions to less experienced personnel.
  • Participate in (and/or lead) teams in support of World Class Manufacturing initiatives to address and improve deficiencies.
  • Operate around heavy equipment in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Recognize equipment issues; take necessary corrective action, including shutting the machine down and requesting equipment maintenance and/or support.
We believe you have
  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred
  • Prior production/manufacturing machine operation experience preferred
  • Basic machine maintenance skills
  • Quality inspection and machine systems handling
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Basic math skills, basic reading comprehension
  • Ability to read, understand and comply with work directions, training manuals, safety rules, standard operating procedures, and World Class Manufacturing processes.
  • Hours:3rd shiftfrom 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • Work Pattern:Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, rotating every 3 months.
