Job summary

MCC is seeking a Finishing Machine Operator in Chesapeake to support quality checks and roll splicing in a high-speed printing environment.

The role is a 3rd shift position with competitive pay of $18.00–$21.00 per hour, plus a $1.00/hour shift differential and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience or knowledge of lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred
• The physical demands require standing, walking, and frequent movement; ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Frequent walking and basic safety awareness in a printing/packaging environment
• Proficiency with Radius data entry and basic office software

Responsibilities

• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
• Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per specification.
• Uses a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing as needed.
• Handles rolls and palletizes them to prevent damage.
• Records data on designated paperwork and in Radius.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:

• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.


• Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.


• Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).


• Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.


• Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.


• Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Radius)


• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

• Experience or in-depth knowledge of lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred

• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.


• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
