Job summary

MCC Label in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Finishing Machine Operator to join our team. The role focuses on checking print and seam quality, handling rolls, and data entry in Radius. This is a 1st shift, full-time position with competitive pay and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualified candidates are quality-driven, able to perform basic math and unit conversions, and proficient with MS Office while learning our systems. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience with lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
• Ability to perform basic math and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

• Check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice rolls per specs.
• Use ruler, safety knife, and hole punch as needed.
• Handle rolls and palletize to prevent damage.
• Record data in Radius and other systems.
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Compensation: $18.00-$21.00 (based on skill level, specific abilities, and years of industry-specific experience) + $1,000 sign on bonus

Responsibilities:

• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
• Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
• Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
• Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
• Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
• Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Radius)
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience or in-depth knowledge of lithographic, flexographic, or digital printing preferred
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous eye concentration.
