Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Finishing Operator 3/Quality Control to support quality assurance and efficient product movement across the facility. You will partner with Quality Control and Operations Leadership and report to the Final Manufacturing Supervisor.

The role focuses on operating manufacturing machinery, inspecting production, and ensuring products meet quality standards. It requires attention to detail, basic data analysis, and a collaborative, safe work approach.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of related manufacturing or quality control experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing machinery and inspect production for defects.
  • Interpret product quality and measure against the Quality Verification Manual.
  • Manage the flow of inspection machines and verify that the product passes Final Audit.
  • Control material flow on the production floor.

Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Finishing Operator 3/Quality Control at MKS, Inc. you will partner with Quality Control and Operations Leadership to assist with product quality control and efficient product movement throughout the facility. In this role, you will report to the Final Manufacturing Supervisor.

You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Running manufacturing machinery, inspection of production and the repair of product defects.
  • Interpret the quality aspects of the product and measure the quality of the product to the standards as stated in the product Quality Verification Manual.
  • Manage the flow of the inspection machines; interpret machine and product parameters and verify that the product meets the standards to pass Final Audit.
  • Product flow control including moving material from one resource to the next, maintaining a steady flow throughout the production floor.
Skills You Bring:
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years of related manufacturing or quality control experience

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
  • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
  • Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 85% of the time
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Operates in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually higher than average
Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $18.89 - 31.49 USD Hourly. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
