Job Description

Job Profile: Ceramic Core Finisher - Level 1-3

Position Summary: Identify manufacturing defects on cores, patch or trim cores to repair defects, and use air guns with diamond tools to trim flash, die lines, and cut tie bars on all cores.

Essential Functions:

• Handle cores carefully
• Follow SOPs for Finishing and stamp identification on cores
• Produce within set standards, identify defects, and maintain accurate records
• Perform 100% visual inspection before working on cores
• Identify and patch negatives on low-pressure cores
• Remove die lines and Ludox excess
• Make dimensional checks and apply tac wax
• Use microblast glass rods
• Complete and disposition blue dye cores
• Identify cracks and voids, patch accordingly
• Trim flash, die lines, and tie bars using air guns or hand tools
• Run dip processes as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and computer entries
• Adhere to all safety procedures
• Maintain department standards (6S)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Follow instructions, interpret quality specs, analyze problems
• Work overtime if needed
• Assist peers as required

Experience & Education:

• Basic geometry skills
• Ability to read procedures and comprehend instructions

Physical Demands:

Infrequent to frequent physical activities including squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, climbing, walking on rough surfaces, and working near moving machinery, with varying frequency percentages and durations.
