Job summary

IDEX Health & Science LLC., a unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a Finishing Associate II – Machining in West Henrietta, NY. You will machine glass optics with CNC milling, achieve tight specs, and contribute to continuous improvement while working in a collaborative team environment.

The role demands experience in CNC machining or optical fabrication, strong metrology skills, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Three or more years experience in CNC machining or optical fabrication.
  • Excels at performing repetitive tasks.
  • Able to learn new skills and job functions.
  • Proficient mathematics skills – add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Works in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise, dust, and chemicals.
  • Visual acuity and ability to distinguish chromatic colors.
  • Very good manual dexterity.
  • Must stand for extended periods and handle delicate optical components.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
  • Able to work overtime as production schedules require.

  • Execute beveling of glass optics.
  • Recommend changes to support production and continuous improvement.

Requirements include US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Machine various glass optics using CNC milling machines
  • Analyze a variety of specifications and make adjustments to meet customer requirements as necessary
  • Execute beveling of glass optics
  • Recommend changes to support production and continuous improvement
  • Assist in the training of others
  • Comply with all health, safety, and PPE requirements
  • Support company values through ethical conduct and integrity in all actions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the operation of CNC mills or dicing saws
  • Ability to perform optical inspection and metrology using micrometers and other measurement tools
  • Familiarity with optical manufacturing terminology and processes
  • Work effectively on a team to meet production deadlines

  • CNC machines and dicing saws

  • Personal computer and data recording & ERP software
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $37,500.00 - $56,300.00, depending on experience.

This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
