Job summary

Valley Craft Industries in Lake City, MN is seeking a Powder Coat Painter / Paint Booth / Wash Prep, with on-the-job training in a clean, safety-focused shop. You’ll prepare parts, operate powder coat and spray equipment, and support production with line handling and finishing tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior powder coating or painting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate spray and line equipment.
• Ability to follow written and demonstrated work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for powder coating: clean, wash, degrease, mask, and hang.
• Operate powder coat and electrostatic spray equipment per specifications.
• Load/unload parts on paint line and ovens.
• Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and finish quality.
• Inspect parts and perform touch-ups or rework as needed.
• Adjust gun settings, powder flow, air pressure, and assist with color changes.
• Clean and maintain spray equipment and booths.
• Follow work instructions, quality standards, and spray patterns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized paint area.
• Support production flow as a line handler and package/stage finished parts.
• Communicate issues to supervisors and team members.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM

What You’ll Learn & Do

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior powder coating or painting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate spray and line equipment
• Ability to follow written and demonstrated work instructions
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality finishes
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and sit for long periods
• Comfortable working in hot or cold manufacturing environments
• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays
