Job summary

APAC-Central Inc. is hiring a Finishing Heavy Equipment Operator in Oklahoma. You will safely operate a range of heavy machinery, perform daily checks, and communicate daily requirements with forepersons and superintendents.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and teamwork. CDL may be preferred; pre-employment screens and a valid license are required; expect varied weather and extended hours on projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment preferred.
• GPS machine control equipment experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
• Knowledge of construction materials and equipment is strongly desired.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record; CDL may be required or willingness to obtain one.
• Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and physical.
• Provide documentation for I-9 eligibility verification.
• Demonstrate a professional attitude and commitment to teamwork.
• Adhere to safety policies and work in a safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and backhoes.
• Review and apply manufacturer manuals and guidelines for each piece of equipment.
• Complete routine daily equipment checks.
• Communicate with Forepersons and Superintendents regarding daily requirements.
• Perform daily inspections and pre-start procedures to ensure proper order.
• Coordinate with crew for safe and efficient project flow.
• Park equipment for easy access by Equipment Mover.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and promote company image.
• Follow safety regulations and operational procedures.
• Assist with general laborer duties as required.
