Job description

Finishing Cell Operator - Day Shift
Weir ESCO
Portland Oregon - Plant #3
Onsite - Day Shift - 4 AM - 2 PM

Purpose of Role: Work on metal cast assemblies to prepare them for use. The successful candidate should have a proven record in applying production systems in manufacturing environments. Excellent attendance is essential for team success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety First: Commit fully to zero harm behaviors to promote a world-class safety culture.
  2. Focus Area: Use an adjustable table-mounted grinder to grind castings.
  3. Focus Area: Follow established processes, safety documents, and work instructions to ensure performance.
  4. Focus Area: Pay close attention to detail.
  5. Focus Area: Use belt sanders, hand grinding tools, and dimensional gauges to fit adapters, points, and stainless sleeves.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience with grinding tools or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  2. Must be or be able to become forklift certified.
  3. Ability to use a full face respirator.
  4. Working environment involves steel foundry conditions with exposure to heat, noise, and dust. Frequently lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Compensation: Starting from $22.00 per hour.
