Job summary

Mittera in Newton, IA is seeking a Part-Time Finishing Assistant to join our growing team. This entry-level role requires no prior experience and focuses on processing work orders, locating product, and packing orders for shipment according to the production schedule.

Essential duties include pick/pack, labeling, preparing shipping, maintaining clean work areas, and running a die cutter as needed. We offer medical, dental, vision, 401K with company match, and Paid Time Off.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of routine picking procedures and basic warehouse procedures.
• Skilled in reading specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
• Must have demonstrated mechanical ability and ability to use various assembly tools.
• Requires basic arithmetic and skill to measure, count and weigh products and materials.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be self-motivated, reliable, and quality, safety oriented.

• Ensure accurate shipping information is attached.
• Produces at quantity and quality levels in accordance with production requirements.
• Maintains area, worktables, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

Physical Requirements

• Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending
• Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, and coordination
• Requires near visual acuity
• Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
• Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
• Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances
