Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Injection Mold Operators

Operate injection molding machines to produce ceramic cores. Ensure products meet all quality specifications and are made according to the latest standard operating procedure.

  • Follow documented job-specific work instructions
  • Ensure the correct procedure is pulled up on the production system screen while performing the injection operation
  • Maintain mix level in the hopper, prepare die for injection, inject, remove part
  • Visually inspect parts and identify defects
  • Load parts into containers (saggers) according to procedure
  • Complete data input to the production system using a handheld scanner
  • Maintain required documentation and paperwork
  • Produce quality ceramic cores, meeting production goals and quality requirements

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality inspectors, and fellow operators
  • Assure proper completion of end-of-shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 6S activity
  • Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations

Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills, Knowledge Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Use of precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent attendance & dependability a must

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand the entire 8-hour shift (plus overtime, when required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes
  • Working in a manufacturing environment
