Job summary

USAM, a high-end architectural millwork firm based in Manassas, VA, is seeking a Finisher/Sprayer to join our team.

The candidate will finish per customer specifications, prepare pieces for the finishing area, and apply satin coats. Must have at least 2 years in millwork finishing; AWI custom shop experience is preferred. The role is on site in Manassas, with minimal travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in millwork and finishing
• Skilled use of paints
• Experience working in an AWI custom shop

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the finishing on the completed product per the customer’s specifications.


• Responsible for preparing work to enter the finishing area and/or sands between coats of finish.


• Applies uniform coats of satin and/or finish on work.


• Has responsibility for mixing colors


• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands, handle/feel objects, tools, or controls.


• The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch.


• The employee must occasionally push, pull, or lift from below the waist, or lift from an overhead position and carry 5-75 pounds.


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a or near the shop floor where there may be moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.

• Minimal travel is required for this position.
