Job summary

UEC in Perrysburg, OH is seeking a student engineer to work on cold end operations and glass container inspection. You will engage in projects to advance cold end operations and develop solutions for global teams, while creating training materials for onsite operations staff.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (junior or senior) with strong written communication and organizational skills.

• Review, prepare and create documents, videos, and training materials for operations teams in O-I plants.
• Collaborate with other teams to deploy solutions.
• Perform experiments in lab, pilot, and production environments.
• Prepare technical reports to communicate findings to multidisciplinary teams.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Work closely with the Finished Products team to understand the glass container manufacturing process, focusing on glass container inspection and the cold end operations.
• Engage in one or more projects to advance cold end operations objectives.
• Explore assigned problems independently, propose solutions, and collaborate with teams to reach consensus on desired outcomes.
• Develop and implement solutions for Cold End Operations teams and other global teams.
• Review, prepare, and create documents, videos, and training materials for operations teams in O-I plants.
• Collaborate with other teams to deploy solutions.
• Perform experiments in lab, pilot, and production environments.
• Prepare technical reports to communicate experimental findings and present them to multidisciplinary teams.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who have:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field, with Junior or Senior status preferred.
• Ability to balance several projects simultaneously.
• Good interpersonal skills, especially for networking with team members who may collaborate remotely.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
