Job summary

HW Staffing co in Cranston, RI is seeking an experienced cabinetmaker to interpret architectural drawings, select materials, and plan cutting layouts. You will cut, shape, and join solid wood and laminates, assemble cabinet carcasses, and prepare surfaces for finishing in a precision workshop.

Responsibilities include finishing with stains or varnishes, and installing hardware, doors, and drawers, with final site delivery and custom installation.

• Blueprint Reading & Planning: Interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and shop specifications to select materials and plan cutting layouts.
• Cutting & Shaping: Operate precision machinery (table saws, routers, CNC machines, jointers) to cut, shape, and join solid wood, veneers, and laminate panels.
• Assembly: Join components using mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, pocket-hole, or dowel joints along with adhesives and fasteners to build cabinet carcasses, face frames, and drawers.
• Sanding & Surface Prep: Prepare wood surfaces through detailed multi-stage hand and power sanding to clear flaws prior to finishing.
• Finishing: Apply stains, sealers, paints, lacquers, or varnishes using sprayers, brushes, or wiping techniques.
• Hardware & Installation: Mount hinges, slides, handles, and pulls; fit cabinet doors and drawers; perform final job site delivery and custom installation.
