Responsibilities

• Performs preparation work prior to painting, such as repairing surface defects, sanding and cleaning.
• Applies masking tape or other material over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
• Mixes paints and catalyst prior to applying.
• Regulates the width and pressure of spray according to painting technique.
• Cleans spraying equipment with solvent.
• Cleans grease and dirt from product using various products.
• Fills, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces.
• Fills depressions with body filler.
• Visually examines and feels the surface of the work piece.

Education

HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent
