Job summary

Valdese Weavers is seeking a Finish Machine Material Handler for the 1st shift in Valdese, NC. The role focuses on applying the proper finish to cloth, maintaining machine hygiene, and supporting finishing operations in a fast-paced production environment.

You will handle chemical mixtures, operate related equipment, and ensure safety protocols and 5S standards are followed while assisting exit-end and coater operators as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Medium lifting required.
• Tenter frame operating experience preferred.
• Ability to weigh and mix chemicals by percentages.
• Ability to use a computer for tracking of fabric by process.

Responsibilities

• Apply proper finish to cloth.
• Keep the blade free from strings or other foreign objects.
• Change waste latex and waste water barrels when full.
• Clean or replace scotchgard tips and filters as needed.
• Check spray on scotchgard tips and adjust as necessary.
• Pin cloth accurately.
• Maintain foamers, soap tanks and chemical levels.
• Flush latex pump and lines at end of shift.
• Clean inside of the dryer daily/weekly as directed.
• Mix scotchgard formulas and keep tanks filled.
• Recycle waste latex.
• Line up buggies of cloth for finish.
