Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform nondestructive evaluation tasks using methods such as Nital Etch, Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle inspections, to determine product acceptance by visual examination.

You will review parts and processes for finishes and coatings, maintain records, and calibrate NDI equipment. Strong written and verbal communication are required, with ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years related inspection experience including finishes, coatings and processes.
  • Three (3) years’ experience as a certified Level II Liquid Penetrant Inspector and a Magnetic Particle Inspector per NAS 410 or equivalent and able to re-certify.
  • New employees must re-certify prior to completing their probationary period at Bell.
  • Upgrading employees must re-certify prior to completing their upgrade trial period.
  • Must be able to provide documentation of formal training and experience hours.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and audit in accordance with instructions to determine product acceptance by visual examination and use of NDT methods (Nital Etch, Liquid Penetrant, Mag Particle).
  • Inspect parts, assemblies and materials for defects in finishes, coatings, and processes such as plating, painting, heat treating, and processing.
  • Complete process checks.
  • May be required to use portable equipment and devise holding devices and work aids for the job.
  • Maintain adequate records and prepare reports as required.
  • Perform preliminary and/or final disposition in accordance with specifications and standards.
  • Set and calibrate Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) equipment and related tools to meet test specs.
  • Inspectors will review overall part condition and aesthetics.
  • Communicate information effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Work independently and within a team and assist inspection personnel as required.

Tools & Equipment Used
  • Inspector’s hand and marking tools, material-testing equipment such as Magnaflux, Rockwell, Zyglo, Brinell, etc. Precision measuring instruments and special testing devices and equipment, etc. as necessary.
  • Utilization of electronic systems and data administration such as: Electronic Planning, CAMS, First Article Inspections, SAP, Enovia, VQM, surveillance systems, time keeping systems, calibration systems, etc.
Experience & Other Requirements
