Job summary

The Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) seeks a Corrections Identification Supervisor to lead the fingerprint classification and photographic identification program at the Monarch Center in Lincoln and IYC Pere Marquette.

The ideal candidate will supervise fingerprinting, maintain files, and coordinate with FBI and other agencies while directing staff in a working, safety-conscious environment. This is a union position with a comprehensive benefits package and a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of high school or equivalent.
• Requires completion of an approved guard training course within six months of employment.
• Requires completion of an approved training program in taking and classifying fingerprints.
• Three years' experience in fingerprint identification work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate the operation of a fingerprint ID program.
• Direct fingerprinting and genetic index marking of youth.
• Photograph and fingerprint all new employees; maintain files.
• Serve as working supervisor and escorts for youth to assignments.
• Coordinate with FBI and other agencies.
