Job description

Branch's Civil Division is searching for an experienced and safety-oriented Fine Grade Motor Operator to join our well-established, growing company. The Fine Grade Motor Operator operates a self-propelled motor grader and, from stakes and lines, cuts sub-grade; performs other fine-grade operations, requiring considerable experience and a high degree of skill.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
  • Scraping and leveling dirt on roadway
  • Spreading and mixing materials on roadway
  • Shaping and blading subgrades
  • Balancing and rough shaping base course materials
  • Fine grading and dressing of shoulders and slopes
  • Routine cleaning of equipment and work area
  • May perform other related duties
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of construction techniques
  • 1 to 3 years of fine grade motor operating experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • DOT experience preferred, but not required
  • Fine Grade GPS/UTS Motor Grader Experience

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
