Job summary

The Houstonian Club is seeking a personable Server for The Kitchen to deliver exceptional dining experiences to Members and guests.

You will take orders, ring in POS, describe menu items, manage allergies, and coordinate with the wine program while upholding the club’s luxury standards.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, maintain presentation, and adhere to sanitation and safety policies is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is preferred.
• Minimum one-year server experience in a fine dining restaurant.
• Must be 18 years of age and current T.A.B.C. certification preferred.
• Must have ability to perform daily work at a high level of accuracy.
• Must have alcohol beverages and wine knowledge.
• Must be able to take direction well.

Responsibilities

• Assist members and guests with food and drinks service.
• Must be able to take food and drink orders correctly and ring up orders in the POS.
• Describe all menu items to help guests have a great dining experience.
• Identify food allergies and make proper recommendations.
• Recommend food pairings with wine.
• Deliver a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly.
• Prepare guests drink orders and expedite food when a food runner is not available.
• Maintain table settings by replenishing utensils and refilling water glasses.
• Stock stations with necessary supplies and tidy dining areas.
• Wear assigned uniforms and maintain professional appearance.
• Complete closing shift reports and adhere to sanitation and safety policies.
