Job summary

Transwestern operates Hotel Granduca Houston and seeks a Server Assistant to support the dining team in delivering exceptional guest experiences in a luxury hotel setting.

You will reset tables, assist servers with food delivery, and maintain clean, well-stocked service areas while upholding health and safety standards. This role requires a strong client-first mindset and prior hospitality experience, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Food Handler Certification within 60 days of hire.
• 2–3 years of experience in a hotel, country club, or fine dining environment.
• Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixology.
• Familiarity with responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• English communication skills; Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Strong attention to detail with proactive guest service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Expertly support servers by promptly clearing and resetting tables according to hotel standards and guest preferences.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dining room layout, table assignments, and service flow to anticipate team needs.
• Ensure that all tableware, glassware, and linens are clean, polished, and properly placed.
• Assist in delivering food and beverages to guests, ensuring accuracy and elegance in presentation.
• Monitor and refill water, coffee, and other non-alcoholic beverages throughout service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service station at all times.
• Comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of food and equipment.
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and hosts to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Participate in pre-service meetings and briefings to understand menu highlights and service priorities.
• May require shift work, overtime, and/or on-call duties. See under "Other."
