Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in South Bend is seeking a Fine Arts & Education Lead to coordinate classes, support instructors, and nurture safe, welcoming spaces for learners. You will manage schedules, develop arts programs, and ensure effective communication with families.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (preferred) and at least two years’ related experience in education or arts programming, plus strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
• At least two years of related experience in education, fine arts, ministry, youth programming, or organizational support.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Ability to lead groups and work positively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs and the ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain The Salvation Army’s driver qualification standards.
• Must successfully complete a background check.
• Must complete Safe From Harm and CPR training within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules for instructors, counselors, students, classes, lessons, and events.
• Develop and support programs in music, drama, dance, visual arts, and education.
• Help maintain required staffing levels and Safe From Harm ratios.
• Provide coverage when instructors or counselors are unavailable.
• Assist with training and provide staff with the materials and resources needed for successful programs.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding schedules, cancellations, student concerns, and account balances.
• Track attendance and help reinforce student behavior expectations.
• Keep classrooms, music rooms, art spaces, and supply areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
