Job summary

Art Leaders Gallery in West Bloomfield, Michigan is seeking two part-time Art Preparators & Fine Art Installers to join our team. This hands-on role involves safe handling, movement, delivery, and installation of fine art at the gallery and client locations.

We offer approximately 20 hours per week at $20/hour, with potential for growth into a full-time position as the gallery expands. Training is available; a background check and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Be able to safely lift and move artwork weighing 50 lbs+ safely
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working at elevated heights
• Detail-oriented with accurate measurement, leveling, and placement
• Willing to learn hand tools, drills, levels, ladders, hanging hardware
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions

Responsibilities

• Hang, install, remove, and reposition artwork throughout the gallery
• Assist with gallery rotations, exhibitions, and installation of new inventory
• Safely handle, move, pack, unpack, and transport fine art of varying sizes, weights, and values
• Patch, sand, and paint walls after moves and exhibition changes
• Maintain clean, professional gallery walls and installation areas
• Load and unload artwork for deliveries and installations
• Pick up and deliver artwork to clients’ homes, businesses, and other locations
• Professionally install artwork in client spaces using appropriate hardware and techniques
• Measure walls and determine proper placement, spacing, height, and alignment
• Work with various wall surfaces and installation situations
• Protect clients’ floors, walls, furnishings, and property during delivery/installations
• Maintain tools, ladders, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean state
• Communicate professionally with clients while representing Art Leaders Gallery during visits
• Assist with other gallery operations and projects as needed
