Job summary

MidFirst Bank seeks a Data Analyst in the Financial Crimes department to help detect, prevent, investigate, and report illicit activity. You’ll develop Tableau dashboards, write SQL reports, and validate data while collaborating with management and technical teams.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data analysis, strong SQL skills, and experience with data visualization. This role emphasizes ownership, proactive problem solving, and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Two or more years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and data validation.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with ability to explain findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to create effective data visualizations and user-friendly dashboards, preferably using Tableau.
• Proficient SQL development with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer.
• Proficient preparing, cleansing, and transforming data for reporting and analytics.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive with ownership and accountability.
• Proficient documentation skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
• Provide timely and professional support to the department.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Tableau dashboards.
• Use statistical and other analytical techniques to spot unusual patterns and derive insights.
• Write SQL queries used for reporting, analysis, and data validation.
• Research and resolve data quality, reporting, and system issues.
• Participate in quality control and validation activities.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes.
• Document business rules, data definitions, processes, and reporting logic.
