5P Consulting is seeking an exceptional Business Architect with deep financial process knowledge and ERP expertise to join our growing team. This individual will play a critical role in shaping, optimizing, and guiding the architecture of our clients’ business systems, with a strong focus on financial processes and enterprise applications.

This is not a back-seat role. We are looking for a proactive, outspoken leader who takes ownership, confidently drives solutions, and advocates for best practices across processes like Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting acumen, deep ERP process knowledge, and the ability to bridge business needs with system capabilities.

In this role, you will specifically support our Information Management and FinApp consulting practices and report directly to the President. In your work, you will uphold the values of 5P Consulting and amplify the success of our business.

Job Type: This is a full-time, exempt, remote position (we are open to part-time as well)

Expected work hours: 40 hrs p/wk

Role and Responsibilities:

• Design and Architect Business Processes: Lead the development and optimization of end-to-end business processes (P2P, O2C, R2R), aligning process design with operational goals and ERP capabilities.

• ERP Strategy & Financial Application Design: Provide architectural oversight and process leadership across ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, SAP), ensuring configurations support accuracy, control, scalability, and compliance.

• Master Data Governance: Partner with clients and internal teams to define and implement enterprise master data strategies (vendors, customers, chart of accounts, etc.).

• Client Advocacy: Take ownership of deliverables and outcomes. Confidently challenge assumptions, drive informed decisions, and recommend pragmatic solutions.

• Partner Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with implementation partners, system integrators, and internal consultants to translate business needs into system design and process architecture.

• Best Practices & Continuous Improvement: Promote architectural standards and financial system best practices to improve efficiency, data integrity, and audit readiness.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders. Communicate clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; CPA or MBA is a plus.

• 7+ years of experience in business architecture, financial systems design, or ERP transformation.

• Strong understanding of GAAP/accounting principles and how they map to system and process design.

• Proven experience architecting and implementing financial ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Workday).

• Deep familiarity with enterprise master data and governance structures.

• A bold communicator—comfortable asking hard questions, pushing for clarity, and leading discussions.

• Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with a bias toward execution and impact.

• Must be articulate, organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment.

• Must be a strong communicator, be proactive, not reactive

• Must be available during business hours. Either 7 am - 4 pm or 8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday in your time zone

• Experience with Google Suite platform (Drive, Collaboration, Word, Sheets, Slides)

• Nice to have: Experience with Lucid Diagrams, Hubspot, Salesforce, and a Project Management tool (we use Certinia)
