Job summary

Ark Chicago is seeking a Financial Counselor to provide individualized financial counseling and money management support to clients across its Social Services and Housing teams. You’ll conduct client meetings, develop tailored plans, educate on budgeting and benefits, and coordinate with programs to promote financial stability while upholding Ark policies.

Programming involves Shallow Subsidy and New Beginnings support, paying client expenses, maintaining records, and collaborating with Benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, social work, human services, accounting, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with clients to assess financial needs, goals, and challenges.
• Develop individualized financial plans with budgeting, bill management, debt prioritization, and savings goals.
• Offer financial education tailored to clients’ cognitive, emotional, and functional needs.
