Job description

++JOB DESCRIPTION++

We’re seeking a Wealth Manager to join an established wealth-management practice in Olympia, WA. This is an opportunity for a client-focused advisor to transition from a primarily service role into a lead Wealth Manager position with significant ownership of client relationships.

This is NOT a build-a-book-from-scratch role. You’ll work alongside the Executive Director of Wealth Management through a 6–12 month transition, learning an established client base, including HNW households, while building trust and understanding the firm’s planning and investment philosophy.

  • Months 1–12 | Onboarding & Integration: Focus on learning the clients, participating in meetings, understanding the firm’s approach, and building strong relationships.
  • Year 2 | Leadership & Growth: Take greater ownership of client relationships and drive growth by deepening existing relationships, identifying client needs, generating referrals, and bringing in new AUM.

The long-term growth benchmark is approximately $8M–$12M in new AUM annually once fully integrated. This is not a first-year quota.

We’re looking for an experienced wealth-management professional who combines strong HNW client experience with a service-to-lead mindset — someone who genuinely cares about clients but also has the initiative, energy, and “hunter instinct” to identify opportunities and help grow the practice.

++KEY RESPONSIBILITIES++
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with existing HNW clients and prospective clients.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director during the transition to understand client relationships, financial situations, goals, preferences, and service expectations.
  • Participate in quarterly, semi-annual, tri-annual, and annual client review meetings.
  • Gradually assume primary responsibility for a significant portion of the client base.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship manager for assigned households.
  • Deliver a high-touch, personalized client experience.
  • Listen to client goals and concerns and provide thoughtful recommendations, education, and solutions.
  • Help clients navigate significant financial events, including retirement, inheritance, insurance events, and other life transitions.
Financial Planning & Wealth Management
  • Conduct client financial reviews and evaluate progress toward financial goals.
  • Provide financial planning and investment-management guidance.
  • Support retirement planning, cash-flow analysis, investment planning, and broader wealth-management strategies.
  • Prepare for client meetings by reviewing financial information, identifying opportunities, and developing recommendations.
  • Use financial-planning software to build and maintain client plans.
  • Manage advisor-level client service needs while partnering with the administrative team on operational matters.
  • Collaborate with advisors, CFPs, portfolio management, and other team members to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Practice Development & AUM Growth
  • Take ownership of an established client base through the firm’s transition process.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and address underserved client needs.
  • Identify opportunities to bring additional assets under management.
  • Cultivate organic growth through referrals and trusted client relationships.
  • Recognize opportunities associated with retirement, inheritance, liquidity events, and other significant financial transitions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the existing book and proactively identify opportunities for growth.Contribute to the firm’s long-term AUM growth.
  • Work toward an aspirational benchmark of approximately $8M–$12M in new AUM annually once fully integrated.
Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with advisors, CFPs, portfolio management, and administrative staff.
  • Communicate proactively and keep teammates informed without requiring micromanagement.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on commitments.
  • Ask questions and seek guidance when needed.
  • Accept feedback openly and apply it to improve performance.
  • Contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment.
