The Financial Underwriting Representative is a quoting specialist for groups insured through Humana. The role computes rates for both renewing and prospective moderate to complex in-force group accounts. The Financial Underwriting Representative 3 performs advanced administrative/operational/customer support duties that require independent initiative and judgment. May apply intermediate mathematical skills.
The Financial Underwriting Representative plays a crucial role in assisting the underwriter and sales by providing support in the preparation and evaluation of proposals for existing groups. This position focuses on Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability products for group business. Provides estimates and accurate analysis of financial exhibits. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes and techniques, and works under limited guidance due to previous experience/breadth and depth of knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple tasks and communicate with various stakeholders to ensure a smooth underwriting process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare proposal exhibits for existing in-force groups to show alternative options to existing lines of business.
Prepare proposal exhibits for new lines of business for existing in-force business.
Assist sales with necessary adjustments to quotes for new and existing business.
Communicates effectively with sales to gather information and clarify quote requests.
Maintains accurate records of all underwriting activities to ensure compliance with company policies and requirements.
Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Provides exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related in a prompt and professional manner.

Required Qualifications
Customer Service experience
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Bachelor's Degree
One or more years of underwriting or financial analysis experience
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
